We have and are continuing to develop the application of explosive "kicking charge" displacement of pre-cut steelwork supports as a means of inducing and controlling the collapse of multiple bay structures including installations within them. Today's approach to the demolition of power stations includes the explosive demolition of: Turbine hall bays. De-aerator bays. Boilerhouse bays including internal installations, boilers and economisers etc. Bunker bays. External Structures Chimney stacks Cooling towers Electrostatic precipitators Coal handling plant Our methods have developed to bring about the explosive demolition of multiple elements together. The sequence shown includes 15,000 tonnes of boilerhouse including 4 boilers and bunker bays and a 365' high reinforced concrete chimney.
